CSA Episode 177 "It wasn't that bad..."

On this continued episode from February 28th, Maqz and T Fab P get off the more serious stuff and once again look to the internet for the idiocy in the world. First up, a couple of updates with props out to Maqz for having some of his thoughts about arcades verified and then some discussion about new proposed Arizona laws to allow hand guns on that states college campuses. Next up is a look at the economic issues in Greece, Ireland and Iceland and see how Europe is trying to deal with it. Then T Fab brings up a story about a children's book that one Texas mother thinks is too verbally graphic for children. T Fab also brings up a sad baseball note regarding the passing of Duke Snider. Maqz talks about a colleague who retired and wrote a funny email goodbye and T Fab P ends the whole thing by announcing he has found Jesus. Quite a nights worth!

CSA Episode 176 "Goons, hired goons..."

A more serious podcast tonight as Maqz and T Fab P begin by looking at what is happening in Libya right now. It is a rentier state, which means that over 97% of its economy coming from the oil industry and their leader has hired people to come in and quell the protesters. Maqz then talks aout this is different from Egypt where the army, with little to do before this, is involved in its manufacturing jobs so those protesting there are their customer. This leads to a discussion about democracy and things in the US's best interests. This discussion moves onto our own democracy, and all the issues now related to the problems in Wisconsin including the Koch brothers who donated 50 million dollars to political campaigns. Maqz and T Fab P then give some opinions about unions and estate taxes and the machine called Fox News and the GOP.

CSA Episode 174 - "The Dragonfly Episode..."

In tonights podcast jambouriee, the boys and Manhattan Man touch on a wide variety of topics. They begin with MM's big score on the Super Bowl and then quickly move onto a favorite subject by Maqz, euphanisms. He brings up several examples including "family jewels," He also brings up dysphemisms, with their more negative bend. T Fab P then mentions a list of common misconceptions that he found and the group spends some time denying that they believed that misconception or that one. They chat about Christopher Columbus, the pilgrims and their descendents, George Washington's teeth, the Declaration of Independence, the Great Wall of China, and finally Maqz does an ode to his favorite predictor of the future, no, not Denali, but Tesla. Quite an interesting podcast of record! By the way, listen to the very end for a special treat from MissNicole of Eight Beer Sampler productions

CSA Episode 173 " Take two, they're small..."

After the previous show about guns, the guys decided they needed a bit of an old fashion laugh fest so they invited Manhattan Man into the booth and took a little tour of the internet. Topics for their caustic commentary included: Sarah Palin's Alaska, the NH Straw Poll, Maqz predicts the GOP presidential candidate will be...' a little WWF action: Bachmann Vs. Palin, and in some news of the weird they take on tort reform, colonoscopy notices with tax notices, weird baby and people names including "abcde", and Maqz talks about chicken nuggets as mechanically separated meat. All in all, a fun fest for sure!

CSA Chronicles Episode 045 "A Vagina Monologue"

The Vagina Monologues is made up of a varying number of monologues read by a varying number of women (initially, Eve Ensler performed every monologue herself, with subsequent performances featuring three actresses, and more recent versions featuring a different actress for every role). Every monologue somehow relates to the vagina, be it through sex, love, rape, menstruation, mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the variety of names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality. Every year a new monologue is added to highlight a current issue affecting women around the world. Every V-Day thousands of local benefit productions are staged to raise funds for local groups, shelters, crisis centers working to end violence against women. Syracuse University performs a benefit production. Becca, Manhattan Man's daughter is in it for the second year in a row and CSA is proud to present to you, her monologue, "The Angry Vagina"

CSA Episode 172 "Just too many guns..."

Sometimes podcasts aren't all that funny. Sometimes we get onto a serious topic and have a good discussion about it. This is one of those times. We started off as we normally do, Manhattan Man joining us in the booth, doing a bit of an update about predictions, a carry over from our previous show. Well, after that the first topic was about guns and this took up the whole rest of the show. It happens sometimes, it really does, so bear with us on this serious talk about a serious topic.
